The 65 Dart S6 auto, has a Carter BBS 1 barrel on it. (twisty rod linkage) Its been leaking for year by the look of the grunge. I'm suprised it hasn't burned up by the looks of the exhaust manifold!

It needs a rebuild, but before I do, anyone have a ready to use, bolt on, GOOD carb for sale? If so, let me know. It will get me on the road quicker.

On the other hand. what is the best rebuild kit to buy? I guess its a 3838S (auto trans)

Probably not. The early carbs are getting very difficult to find in good condition. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. Use a good-quality carburetor kit; the mass-market kits are rapidly dropping in quality and completeness, and even the good quality kit from www.daytonaparts.com (with their improved-design inlet needle/seat) does not include the necessary float gauge -- the little strip of paper ruler they give you is useless. Same goes for all the parts-store kits. If your carb is warped at the junction of the top and middle castings, buy two kits and double up on the gasket at that junction. You may well need to have the throttle body rebushed, too.
