Need more help. I rebuilt my Stromberg 2bb carb, replaced the fuel pump and the 4" piece of rubber tubing at the gas tank pick up, still cant get the fuel filter more than a 1/4 of the way full before the carb. Any other suggestions on why I am not getting fuel to the carb.

thanks.

Might be sucking air from a loose connection between the rubber hose and the steel line! Are you using the old style band clamps or the threaded screw clamps! Screw clamps are not visually correct, but do offer a better crimp than the old band or wire clamps!!

Just thinking out loud here!! Geof

3 things. 1st the bowl vent needs to open so the air can escape. 2nd is the filter should be angled enough to burp the air inside.

3rd and maybe the main point ( certainly the most costly ).. Get rid of the filter that you can see into. It's just a fire hazard.
A metal filter mounted vertically below the alternator like the later models have is the best plan.

Well I think I need a new Stromberg Carb. only idles for about a 30 seconds give it gas and it dies. I noticed when I was pumping the accelerator it was spitting a fine mist of fuel from the butter fly rod at the bottom of the car. Any suggestions.
