65 cuda curiosity

finally got my cuda in the garage to put on the quarter panel patches. i noticed there was a slot in the trim inside the car passenger side just below the rear window. just wondering if anyone knows what this is for. the drivers side does not have one.

not to sound stupid but does it run under door or a tube under carpet. im sure its simple but this is my first plymouth project

The motor goes where it looks like a 6 x 9 speaker and blows air from the deck up and out the slot.
