Ok, finally some pics. I matched the stripe to the glove box lid and it came out great. After the first 2 coats of clear, I let it dry for about 4 days, then wetsanded with 1000 grit and laid down 2 more coats. I have been doing this for blacks to minimize buffing. In this case, it has made the stripe impossible to feel too. The 40K mile original window rubber was perfectly reusable, and the new lockstrip arrived. Next, the drivetrain swap will begin ! It sure has been convenient to have it running and mobile thru the paint process, but it's V8 time ! I already fired the 318 on a stand and it's nice and healthy. I will hopefully buff and install trim this week before I leave for the nats.

What are your stripe dimensions, 6 X 3/4 X 3/4? Im gonna do my Formula "S" up one day.

According to the early Valiant / Barracuda site, the stripe was dealer installed for $31, and was 6" x 1" x 1". I figure if it was dealer installed, it could have been done to a Valiant too. It just looks right matched up to the interior color. Gives the car a little attitude instead of looking so meek. It should be snappy with the 318 & 4-speed.

Wish mine was that nice. Great job, keep the pics coming! Looking forward to the finished product.

Any wheel/tire changes in the works?

Excellent !!! You sure got that Valiant looing gooooooooood!
The stripe is a great addition:cheers:
