Seems high to me. Highway gears with no suregrip, but I guess this is what its coming to. You better check the shipping before you pull the trigger on buying it. It could be alot. If you have 400 or less HP an 8 1/4 rear will serve you just as well for less than half the price. Just my opinion. Mike
Well, look at it this way, you'll only be burning one rubber at a time and your getting the complete rear end! I thought you were just getting the carrier at that price and that's why I figured it was not cheap. ain10:
I think it's a very high for for a non-posi (US dollars at that!) . I would surely look around more...or pehaps even post in the wanted parts section what you would like to buy and see what happens. In Canada I paid 500.00 for a 742 sure-grip, 3:23 brake to brake. Then bought a 741 3:91 Sure-grip pumpkin for 400.00 (maybe "I" was just lucky).
Thats a terrible price. I sold a open 2.76 489 case for $60. Used, yea, but ran just fine. You better be getting a brand new/rebuilt suregrip with brand new gears setup for that price.
Well I guess that would depend on where you are located. I am picking up a complete (to include the tires and rims) open diff for $125. Just waiting for the weather to clear a little.
