66 Barracuda how much romm for stock hood clearance?

Does anyone know how much distance/clearance there is for upgrading a manifold/carburetor/air cleaner on a stock 66 Barracuda V8?

I'm wondering what space/clearance issues I'm going to run into if I put an Air Gap Edelbrock on my 273 Commando?

i needed a drop base for my mopar M1 and a 14x3 k&n filter... it did the trick...

now i have a tunnel ram, and plenty of room!

but that hole i cut in the hood might have had something to do with it!

I ran a manifold on my '64 that was 4 3/4 " from the bottom to the carb mounting flange. I used it with both Holley's & AFB's. I used a 14" air cleaner that was at least 3" tall overall, no drop base. Only interference I had was at the edge of the air cleaner lid. A little of the chrome rubbed off & it rusted. I think it contacted one of the ribs on the under side of the hood once in a while. Here's a picture. Sorry it's such a poor photo, but it was a long time ago. :mrgreen: At least it gives you a few numbers to work with.
