66 Cuda Rear Seat Restraining Bar Help

I removed and dismantled the setback restraining bar behind my back seat to get it cleaned up and rechromed. When I removed the ends there were rubber strips that were apparently put there during assembly. Can anybody tell me whether these should be replaced when I reassemble everything? If so, what to use and how they should be installed. Thank you!

I have and have owned multiple 66 barracudas and not one had those rubber “cushions.” So they either disintegrated or were not necessary. Even the last formula S model I disassembled and still have the seat back latching bar for in my shop does not have those. I would not worry too much about it.

Looks like a previous owner didn't like the bar rattling.
