66 Dart 270 Trim question

I am looking for the trim that is just under the rear window on a 2 door hardtop for both sides(no post at window). I placed a wanted request here and one of our members replied to let me know that the GT trim was different from the 270 trim at the window. I always thought they were the same so now as I search for this does anyone know what other year trims would fit and are the GT and 270 definately differnet.

There is the rear glass surround and the trim below that. I don't have a parts book for multiple years but I don't think there is any difference between the GT and 270 model trim. I don't believe there is any difference between the 64-66 trim also but don't take my opinions as the gospel. Someone who has switched the trim between models and years will respond for sure. tmm

thanks for the quick reply. I was surprised to hear theres a difference as well but I dont have any way to confirm either way. Hoping someone can give me a definate answer.

The 270 trim piece is a half profile piece, (looks the same from the side). There was like an inch of rain this weekend so I did not get out to the junkyard to confirm. This piece I believe is for the 270. Same profile as the GT, but a thinner profile (looks the same from the side). Part 2423513 (drivers side). The aluminum GT trim is 1 1/2 " wide along the top of the door. The chrome GT piece is ~3/4" x 1 1/2"

Reverse side. 270 in center of two GT pieces. Also, anodized fender trim is different ~1/2" shorter on 66 vs 65 model?

First a special thanks to Mr.CLRoads. I recieved the left trim and it is a super clean part with great chrome shine, no pitting!! He sent it without asking for any money for it. This is well above and beyond anything anyone could ask for. Thank you so much. I will be making a trip your way to personally thank you at some point! Now I just need to find the right side. Your pics showing the difference is very helpful as well. I would have never guessed they were different from each other. Again thanks so much.
