Hey everyone,

Well I had a wild hair up my *** and decided to buy this car that popped up on Facebook Marketplace.
Yes I got 69 valiant but you know, sometimes you need more cars right?
This one will be just a fix and drive. I want a dailyish driver and this is the plan for this one.
Not a horrible car overall.

Got it running, next is to redo breaks. Got all the parts just need the time.

Suuure... famous last words! Now it's running good- but I'm thinking about paint... The paint looks so good, now I need wheels and tires... Anybody know a good upholstery shop?... What's a good sounding exhaust for a slant?... Got a great deal on a 5.9 Mag...
Welcome to the insanity!
Seriously, looks like a nice solid base- all the oddball '66 parts are there, no pulling your hair out looking for one-year parts. Good score! Enjoy! (and a year from now, I'll try to resist saying "I told you so"...!)

It can happen that way. I have probably $12,000+ in mine and still no paint. :BangHead::BangHead: Boy it's fun though.

oh i know what you mean. I got friends already suggesting to me what i should do next lol. I really want a daily i can just do stuff as i go along. I already got a full blown project with a 69 valiant in the garage. I dont want a 2nd lol

Good starting point! I'm curious what the engine bay will look like after a good pressure washing. I bet it shines up nicely!

LOL...I said that when I bought my car too. But hey, it's all part of the fun. My wife wanted me to have a car I could drive and enjoy while working on my other and my plan was to drive it as it was, just get it running good and safe and enjoy it while I redid my 60 bel air project...here we are a year and a half later and I'm only getting deeper. :)

Can't say I regret it though. Love the hobby..(or is it sickness...sometimes it's hard to tell)

Looks like a nice find. Keep us posted

Hey everyone,

So now that winter is finally coming hopefully to an end. I have decided to be an idiot and go back.
The car is gonna become a race car. So the car is still working on but now I for sure have a goal in mind.

BTW anyone have any pointers on getting a v8 kframe?

Aren't the early A K's the same between 6 and 8's?

I dont know much about slant 6 stuff. so care to fill me in there?
i meant cut the k member to clear the sump and box it back in. it's what i did with my 65 dart i put a 440 in. the front of the sump bowl wanted to sit on top of the k member so i cut the k to clear the sump (keeping full sump oil capacity) and then boxed the k back in for strength.
neil.
this car, i called it 'the dartful bodger'.
sorry for the crappy pics
