I have recently picked up a 66 valiant. I am trying to put a 360 crate motor into it. I found an article in Hot Rod magazine that makes it look like a 2 day project. Not the case for me. After finally getting the right engine mounts, I have now purchased some headers (doug's). I have them almost in but now am hitting the steering column with 3 of 4 of the drivers side headers. Anyone else run into this problem.

I have found with mine that dropping or removing the column helps.

Sorry, I can't help you..........I'm running fenderwell headers. Some one here is running those headers they'll probably chime in. TTI or Doug's I thought that you had to pull the driverside torsion bar to get them in.......can't remember which one does this.

Sounds like you going to have a nice car.

Make sure they are the Doug's 450, not the 453 which fits later cars. What motor mounts are you using. The column and torsion bars aren't too hard to pull, so you may be time ahead to get them out of the way.
