Just a note to folks. I spoke with Mike at BEA this morning. They will soon start offering the taillight lenses to go along with the bezels for the 67 Barracuda. I asked him about the possibility of repopping 67 hood inserts as they are always pitted with the chrome coming off them. Mike said at this time they have no plans to make these but might reconsider if they had 200-300 requests for the parts.

I had also sent a question to Laysons regarding repopping the Barracuda emblem script for a 67' tailpanel. Below is his response. Does anyone know if the 68' emblem is the same size and uses the same mounting locations?

"As of last August - all emblems for the entire Mopar industry have been put on hold from greed Chrysler is doing with the manufacturer / supplier of these emblems. Chrysler has the right to price fix within their license program and has told the manufacturer that the minimum "wholesale " price for ANY emblem must be $110 and a royalty fee of 6% is going up to 15% on that minumum price. This effectively means our "cost" will be around $130 per emblem on up and we are not sure if we will be able to be in the emblem selling business anymore - either is Year One, Paddock or everybody else in the market - we are exposed to the same rules. So - for now the mfg. has refused to sign a new license agreement and Chrysler has refused to budge on the "minimum" set price or royalty percentage and this is where we are right now. So - not sure if this will ever get cleared up or if reproduction emblems are a thing of the past for awhile or until Chrysler goes bankrupt anyway.... Dave Layson

Well for what it's worth ... those rear script emblems are totally different. 67 script is braded to the finish panel only. The 68 script is much larger and fastened to the body with studs and nuts like most other badges.

top script is 68 decklid only, pn #2840876

middle is 67 tailpanel

bottom (I believe) is 67 and 68 fender script only, pn #2786559

68 decklid script is slightly longer than 67 and obviously quite different in style. Both are well over 1" longer than the fender script.

Jim, I need that 67 fender script. Is is for sale?? P.M. me and let me know. Thanks, geof

sorry Geof, shown for educational purposes only :book: :-D

edit: I believe those have been reproduced. I would check either BE&A, Laysons or another supplier.

Roger that, Laysons sells the 67 fender scripts, fender fish, and hood and trunk fish. They just don't sell the rear trim script. They do have it for a 68 however. Too bad, my 67 looks like crap and is all pitted up. Well, unless someone has a nice one to offer!!

Kirk is the 68 decklid script "correct" with the matte finish surface and black painted edges? I cant get the picture to come up on the Laysons website.

It looks correct for a 68. I have their catalog and I cannot tell with it is matted or polished. I think you can get on their website and download the catalog. I cannot get their pictures to show up either on the website.
