So I read how the 67 Barracuda repop trunk trim doesn't match up like Factory. Is there a big difference? Does anybody have any pictures they could share? Thanks
Mine aren't totally trashed. One was bent and I got it straight, but im not talented enough to get all the little spots. It`s not big and the average Joe wouldn`t notice, only owners can tell. Buy it, better than looking at holes or hold out for an OEM piece.
Do the repops come with new fasteners? Mine were rusted beyond saving.I have both repop on the car and original tucked away. You would have to lay pieces side by side to see the difference.
Oem was anodized and is now faded. You cant polish it. It has to be stripped off and then sanded/polished.
Get the repop.

I run OEM trim too. I used pinstripe tape in the black lines. The stuff doesn't play well on the tail lights radiuses though. I've always wished someone would die cut them L&R.
Happy moparing
I'm going to blast and then Chrome powder coat my tail light bezels. I was going to use pinstripe tape to mask off the center and then paint it afterwards. Does pinstripe tape stay on pretty good?I run OEM trim too. I used pinstripe tape in the black lines. The stuff doesn't play well on the tail lights radiuses though. Proper trunk trim on the ‘67 Barracuda: Classic unobtainium. I’ve read that the cars often left the factory with the trim out of alignment. So even the OEM situation was hit or miss. Custom DIY ideas you guys are talking about sound good. As for me I’ve just made peace with being off kilter.

Ha ha. Agree. I appreciate trailer queens at the car shows, but for summer (and spring and fall) drivers, you’ve got to be reasonable.Trunk lid alignment, tailight alignment all play a role as well.
Im an OEM guy as much as the next guy, but 60 yr old anodized parts are going to be faded/scratched etc.
Repops in this case are damned nice! If someone wants to nitpick about repop trim(if they can spot the difference) i guess my current accurate triple gauge setup will make them poop their panties...
Remember this trick I posted Steve and Ben ?Same here Ben, I've used pinstripe tape on our 67grills, tail lights and console. Works good. Tedious on the curves for sure.
We once had a "queen of powder" (rip Leanna) here who would be quick to warn us about powder coating cast potmetal. The oven baking thats required can bring out brand new pits. She declided powder coating my door mirrors.I'm going to blast and then Chrome powder coat my tail light bezels. I was going to use pinstripe tape to mask off the center and then paint it afterwards. Does pinstripe tape stay on pretty good?

Learned it from John (RIP) the guy who helped me restore the car.
Painting black stripe on 68 barracuda Grill, taillights, marker lights and taillights.
I used it when I did my trim back in 2016-17.
Still perfect, no peeling looks factory.
Cheers!
Seriously one of my favorite comments on FABO ever.Pretty sure my car has the 'correct' rear trim, sometimes, when I look at it right, or wrong, or left, or sideways.
At least none of it lines up, which makes it easier to see the difference in the two pieces, or not as easy, or always, or never.
