When I bought my survivor 67 barracuda fastback it was missing the corner trims for the front windshield, and rear window.
All 4 corners are missing from the windshield, and the long corners plus the lower center trim is missing from the rear.

I need to find replacements as it makes the car look ratty.
Are these something that I will have to find stock mopar pieces, or are they something that glass companies would have had back in the day?
I’m on the hunt for these if anyone has some kicking around!

@RPM440+6, is very reputable and has helped lots here.
As mentioned the mylar plastic has shrunk and corners went awol.
2 choices....replace the mylar and ss corner pieces.
Or, pull glass, install trim clips, replace gasket to 68/69 style, reinstall glass and FB SS trim. 2nd option in my opinion is a better more permanent option, but finding nice fb trim is $$$.
Mylar is not cheap either but it doesn't involve removing glass or new gaskets.
I've done the front ws on our 67. Rear will be getting done eventually.

Short of replacing the mylar strips that shrink, you can also cut them in the middle and lengthen them with a clip-on straight piece.

I think i have the rubber gasket and strips for that application. Somewhere around here. With the corners and all. I wonder if the Mylar shrinks while being stored in a mailing tube….

Replacing the original rubber and mylar trim with 68 rubber and stainless trim is what I did to my 67 back in the late eighties. But that was when you could still find an early Barracuda in a junkyard and the prices were more reasonable. (The hitch came from the same Barracuda the windshield/rear window trim and rear rubber came from.)

The front windshield is easier, as it is the same as not just 68-9 Barracudas, but also 67- up Dart hardtops (not Demon or Dart Sport) and also Plymouth Scamps that used the Dart hardtop body. So change out the rubber and drill a few holes for clips, and the stainless trim goes right in.

The rear, though, is unique to second gen Barracudas, whether fastback or coupe. Repro rubber is available, but the stainless trim, as far as I know, is only available used. As 4spd says, though, the stainless trim is the more permanent option. My trim still looks good 35 years after I put it in, and it was used then.

@clementine, I have not seen any issues with the mylar strips shrinking over time, that we sell as a reproduction item. Granted, they are stored away in a cardboard tube and not exposed to direct sunlight. Also, I would think that the composition of the mylar strips may be slightly better than the originals in regards to the manufacturing process to withstand the elements better than the originals. And most of the cars that are being restored and using the reproduction strips are now seeing minimum amounts of direct sunshine as they spend most of the time locked away in a garage under a car cover.

We have sold a surprising number of the mylar kits, which is surprising, considering the cost of them. But considering the cost of the stainless trim and availability, then I guess it is a trade off for the owner.
