Any ideas on how to remove this 40 year old sticker without damaging the trim. Also, need help to repolish the trim to take the oxidation out and know of any products out there. I was thinking of polishing it with rubbing compound.

I would try a hair dryer for the decal, 3M makes a product to take the glue off, or you could try some starting fluid or rubbing aclcahol.

Hair Dryer, first and get it off, then some lighter fluid for the residual sticky stuff or WD-40.

You'll need to soak the trim in oven cleaner or draino to remove the annodizing before you begin polishing. Either way the sticker doesn't stand a chance. Good luck

Personally, i think the original dealer sticker is kinda cool. Mine has the dealer emblem in the same place except it has mounting holes threw the trim keeping it on.
