I wish to put a mallory unilite in my car today but have no instrustions to it since I bought it used, The wires are marked +coil -coil and ground, Do I have to do anything with my ballast resistor?

Yeah, get rid of it. I put an Accel distributor in mine and took the ballast resistor and took the guts out of it, put a wire in it with a connector on each side and hooked the same wires back to it. It still looks like the ballast resistor.

I would go to the Mallory web site and down load the instructions. Unles they specifically state the ballast cab removed you will still need.
