I stumbled on these clips...
(Note: the new clip is for a Ford Galaxy)

The measurements are a tad large but who knows where they measured it. looks almost identical. I'm buying one and will report back with a comparison to an OEM clip.

Nope there is a seal ( that I'm in the process of reverse engineering) that goes over the fingers and then the outer fingers are squeezed together spreading the inner fingers in the seal and locking it into the body hole.

The leading and I think the trailing clips do get a screw, but they go on the same way with or without the screw.

Here is my 3rd attempt at the seal.

I still need to know the hole size in the rocker, anyone... anyone?

Eliminate all the clips, screws, holes, beat up moldings that need attention and paint on the molding for a cleaner look ... just a suggestion

I have the original rocker on my 67 gt I can measure for you. I would consider just some rope caulk on the clip and be done with it. Probably seal better than any oem clip gasket.

I agree on the sealing aspect. But the clips don't spread apart enough to lock into the hole. The seal fills the gap and locks it in place. The same type of seal is used on some other trim clips on other cars.

I'm looking for the hole size in the body. My best guess is 5/16" but might be 1/4"

I can measure mine for you tomorrow. Otherwise you could just drill holes in a small scrap of sheet metal until you get the right size.

0.285" = 9.14/32" ~= 9/32"

What an odd size!
Factory punched hole?

Any chance there is 0.030" of paint / rust on the ID of the hole making it a 5/16" (0.3125)

Well either way I have a better starting point than I had before.

Thanks.

Hey DANA, do those Ford clips above actually work for the Dart Rocker trim ?
Don't know yet but I will post my findings when I receive it.

It looks really promising even if it needs a bit of tweaking

Hey Dana , how many of these per side ? I f I'm not mistaken , I thought my 67 has pins sticking out of the rockers for these clips ! I'll have to check.

I'll stop by the garage today and see what the body says about the amount

Al...Yours could have the narrow moldings...they're different.....The Mopar Shop has clips for those. Dana's are the wide moldings. There were holes in my rockers for the ones Dana has...
