67 SB Power steering pressure hose

-
McMaster has a bunch of different hoses available.
McMaster-Carr
The original is about 1-1/2" outside diameter.
The inside diameter is either 3/4" or 7/8" (the two sizes on the hose)

Hose from Rock Auto came. Ac delco #36-352700. Hose is significantly different than what was on it(2537980). Small end going to steering box has 45* bend. Old one was 90*. New one didn't come with any insulation(not surprised). New 1/4" hose(steering box end) was 17" long.
New 3/8" is 15 1/2" approx.
It doesn't sit/lay the old one did, but was able to "coil" the excess and lay it under battery tray.
Lord those manifolds look horrible. Lol

I googled the 36-352700 number and got images that looked correct, that looks like a miss-packaged or miss-pulled hose.

If you are going to use it anyway I'd rotate the 90^ adapter to the outside of the return line fitting (about 45^).
Here is how the two 67's I have/had were.

I agree that the 90* (I see we can't do "degree", o-o-o, *-*-*, oh, well you know what I mean) should point to the outside. A minor point, thanks for the input. I will probably use this same hose on my car, but I appreciate the discussion. Manifolds? You are lucky. My BB car- the clearance is so close that I had to slightly shim the motor mounts to get clearance. Thanks for the help guys.

You can always open the character map (run/charmap) and select ° and do 90°

Thanks for trying Alan, but when you start talking computers you are speaking a foreign language to me.

Not sure if hose is mispackaged? I was stating the differences with old vs new. I will chk and adjust the 45* fitting if need be.
Thanks.

It might just be camera angle, if it matches these then point the fitting to the outside, loop the hose under the battery tray (above the frame).

Great thread! As an aside, I am looking for a good clean used or NOS 2537802 hose if anyone has one. I am looking into having reproductions made of several different original hoses and need good hoses for patterns, I'll gladly pay market prices. Thanks! Scott
