Marty, i am a bit old school so i have gone with, 245/50/14 all round on 14x8 Hotwires.
I have a friend in Sydney who sent them to me, i think they suit it perfectly.
Have 265/50/14 on the white one, with some more 265's coming for the front to fill out the guards a bit more, they are getting hard to get now though.

I think with what you are doing to yours, the larger diameter wheels will suit your build.
