Sometime ago I posted an article about the possibility of making 68 340 4-speed cams. There seems to be enough interest now to where my friend Jim at Racer Brown was able to copy my factory minimal wear cam and make masters off of which are exact to specification. I know there are some other manufacturers out there making cams that are close, but this is the real McCoy. If you are interested, let me know. He's finishing up some back orders now but will probably do a short run of them in the next few months. They will be new US made cores and the cost will be $325 plus shipping. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks for looking and I'm sorry it took so long to get this project going.

Wow, my memory aint what it used to be, but I'm thinkin' 210/220 at .050 and .444 .449?

Click on this to expand. Karl @krazykuda has already been down this road.

Maybe someone with some advertising flair could sell a few ‘modern 340 repro cams’.

Hello everyone, I'm not going to knock another vendor/grinder or debate pricing. The bottom line is I own the dyno standard cam used for the 68 340 four speed and Jim at Racer Brown has had masters made off of it. I went through quite a bit of trouble to track it down and the story was pretty interesting of how it survived. Jim's willing to make short runs of them as time allows (he's a one man show). The cams he makes for this project are new cores which take quite a bit more labor to rough in, grind, surface, finish and parkerize. Regrinds of used cores take much less effort but have less base circle which may cause issues. It's the buyers choice if they want to spend the money for a fresh new core that's an exact copy or spend less for close enough. Either way, I've loaned my cam, Jim's made the masters and he's willing to make them. Feel free to call and order one or disregard all together. Thanks for your time.

$325 is for a new core. Oregon 'under' $200 is to regrind your existing cam...if the condition is good enough.

Thank You for doing this.

Investing your time, money, and efforts along with Jim at Racer Brown taking the initiative to work with you on this worth while project.

Frank, thank you for all your hard work and perseverance for getting those cams made, im sure it took some doing.
Unfortunately I just finished my 340 with a 68-340 4 speed cam from Oregon, I was very happy with the dyno results.
I was excited when you first posted about the cams and was really wanting one of yours but i guess the timing didnt work out, I have one more 340 in the garage maybe the next one..lol
I wish you the best and thanks again...Rich

Thank you all for your support and understanding. I'm really happy to see this project come to fruition. We made the masters almost 6 months ago. These would have been available sooner but Jim had some issues with his grinder machines and was struggling to keep up with the normal orders with 1 of 3 machines working. Things have improved now and he's finally starting to get caught up. If you decide to order, tell Jim you heard about the new cam off FABO. This will make it easier for him to gauge where the interest is coming from and when to schedule a batch. Thanks again and talk with you all soon.

Thanks for sharing. That's impressive. I have a 70 340 bored .020 over. I'm going to be around 9.75:1, aluminum heads, LD340, 68 AVS adjustable roller rockers, stock lifters, 3.510 Mopar stroker crank, eagle SRI rods. This build wasn't really planned out, just a set of very good deals that came my way over a period of 7 years that seem to add up to a good combination. I'm curious what my end result will be. Thanks again for sharing.
