I'm pretty sure it's 3418645, that's the # off some I got with a supposed 68 340..

same as 360 or 318's 72 and up..they all got 340 rods...same part #'s

From what Ive seen the changeover appeared about 1970-71. But for 68-69 definately #2899496. I had #3418645 in a couple of 71 forged crank engines.
