i could be wrong but I don't think it can be a formula S with a 318 ....it would have to be a minimum of a 340 to be eligible for a formula S package in 69

I'm sorry to say that it's not a Formula S based on the 318. Does the BH29F9B match the first part of your VIN?

with and "F" in the Vin and the what you say is "B44"? I believe it would be "E44" if you look close so that is 318 "F" and "E44" are both vin codes for 318. So no Formula-S option... A53 would be the code...but not with 318

Another thing to consider -- export cars sometimes had different engine options. For example, I believe the biggest engine you could get in the Barracuda in 1968 in Mexico was the 318. In Europe, gas prices were much higher, and engines generally were much smaller. The average family car had a 1600cc motor, so even the 5.2 was enormous. But I don't know if they even promoted the Formula S in foreign markets.

I didn't get the VIN from the seller, only the tag.

Seller is asking 1.700 € (soon that will be $1.700 :usa2: LOL), car is rough, no drivetrain, no interior, front window, guess I'll pass. If the 340 was there, that would be another story.

Very difficult to find an original A-body (61-75) with a 318 in it indeed, 340 would be supersuper rare.... I parted out 3 slant 6's and only 8, but that was a Swiss 73 Dart. (for the mountains ofcourse)

if you mean one thousand seven hundred dollars ....that might not be a bad deal. if its not too rusty, any fastback gen 2 barracuda is worth quite a bit. The fenders alone in good shape are worth $5-700 these days.

you can always put a bigger engine in it.

if its not rusty or beat up that might actually be a pretty decent deal.

LHD
No K-frame too. Looks solid though. Maybe rear quarters full off bondo?

OH yea ....I would get the seller down a little on the price and get it.

That is a fastback Gen 2 barracuda

Gen 2 barracudas are to A-bodies what 68-70 chargers are to B-bodies. Its a specialized car that shares some parts with the masses yet still unique enough to be more sought after than the average.

HI. That car has a 1968 fender on the driver side for sure, looks like the other side is the same colour so probably 68 also. Not positive but I don't think you can put 69 grilles on 68 fenders. The header panel is different between the two years also. Bobby

Looks like it should be........ But the tag is hard to read.

Very Similar to my 383S Tag.

Ok, thanks for the info.
It sure has some interesting options, if it were a bit more complete I would go for it.
Now it is only a body with a fendertag on it, not sure if even that is original to this car.
Could check with the VIN on the dash...

Just bought a 2dr 62 Dart 330 (also in France). Also have a '68 2dr Chrysler 300 project, 69 2dr post Valiant, 68 2dr Coronet (my good car) , Lebaron 89 conv., and non Mopar 65 Mustang coupe + 66 Stang conv. bigbig projects..:happy7:

this is the fender tag off of my 69 fb 340 formula "S"
