Hey guys I’ve started rounding up parts for my recently purchased Duster and have been looking at options for bucket seats. It currently has a bench seat with floor 4 speed. My plan is bucket seats and a console for the 4 speed. I have a friend that’s offered these bucket seats he says they are out of a 70 charger and they’re electric. Would it be an issue keeping the electric function? I know you can adapt just about any seat into any car. There are plastics on the sides and Ive yet to find replacement pieces but if I do away with the electric function won’t it lower the seat and void the plastics? New to Mopar and just want some perspective and opinions.

Thanks,

Electric "six way" seat tracks are super rare and valuable.

...but those seats will bolt in and work as is.

Look for the factory dimples in the floor pan.

I was thinking they would have to be rare. My fathers friend was a Mopar racer and selling a bunch of stuff and I can’t pass whether I use the. or not. You have any idea what they’re worth?

Thanks,

Awesome thanks for the info. I’ll do some hunting and what not before I commit to them. Thanks

The seats are very similar to A-body seats, I seem to recall there may be a slight difference in the frame. Nothing that would keep you from using the seats themselves in your Duster, but maybe something to pay attention to for the reproduction covers.

The seat tracks for the B body will not work with the A-body mounting locations, you will need A-body bucket seat tracks (but those should fit the seat frames just fine).

I have no idea if the 6 way function can be changed over to the A-body seat track sliders, but I don't believe that was ever an option for the A-bodies. Could be wrong, not an original option expert.

I definitely have some experimenting to do and it would be cool to do the 6 way function but I also don’t want to destroy these seats. Once I get it all tore down I’ll make some decisions and I believe your right on the option for A-bodies. I appreciate the knowledge and input. Hope to have some progress updates soon. Thanks a bunch!

You should be able to fairly easily sell the six way power setup and buy "regular" tracks with a few bills left over.

Of course that's assuming you don't pay retail for the seat/track assemblies.

I used Cuda buckets in my Duster , I stripped off the foam and used abody foam from legendary interiors , only thing different was the upper rod that's welded on was different , this rod helps pull in the top seat line of upholstery in upper seam line, here are a couple pictures showing the rod , the first is the original rod for Cuda , the 2nd shows after I cut and moved and made straighter and lowered for the abody seat cover , all other of the rods that slide in the seat cover were the same, make sure you remove all rods from old covers as they are needed , not the best pictures an few more on my build page , but the seats now look great in the Duster and look original to the abody

And look at bottoms real close on the springs , if worn or deteriorated , they are easily replaced and sold new as I changed mine
