So I might have jumped the gun. Come across a good deal on some 15x7 torq thust 5 on 4.5. So I made a few measurements and thought they would work. So I ordered the brake conversion kit and went disc all around. Well I think I should have measured twice. When I measured the offset I went off the backside of the tire and though it was 4.5. But when I measured them after I decided to buy them I got 4.25. Should have used a straight edge. :banghead:. I don't have the tire size but they are 8" wide and 26" tall. So I was wondering if anyone did anything close to this or should I just plan on buying new wheels and tires and sell the other one.

So this is what I ended up with 17x7 4.25 backspace in the front and 18x8 with 4.75 backspace in the rear. Fits tight but I think it turned out good.

Do you have a pic of the car Before the new wheels? The pic in your Avatar looks really good.

The new wheels in the pictures are not the ones I talked about before. Ordered all new wheels and tires. In the end I was glad I did

Wow i loved that car with The Black steelies. Thanks for the pic.

What size were those wheels?

Are you running your rear suspension in the stock location? I moved my springs in 3/4 of an inch in the rear and I'm having a Hell of a time fitting Torque Thrust 15x8 with 4.5 back spacing and 275/60 15 M-H Drag Radial's on the back of my 72 Swinger. I'm going to have to trim my inner quarters and it's still going to be awful tight.

Everything is still in the stock location. I tried fitting the same wheels on mine and didn't think it would work. Thats why I end up going 4 3/4 back space. Took some time measuring everything out. Also your tire size is slightly bigger. But I also had to do so trimming on the inner quarters. Here is a picture now. I still need to raise the back up about a 1/2 in.

Sounds good! I was cussing like a sailor today when my wheels and tires showed up FedEx and I couldn't put them right on...man I was pissed! I think I can still make it work though...I'm just going to have to trim the lip and probably push my inner quarters out flush with the outer quarter...should leave me about 5/8" clearance.

Ya I can imagine. I might have a touch more that 1/4 between the tire and inner fender. Very tight. But wouldn't change it for nothing

depending on tire size they should fit. not ideal but should work..

i went 15x7 with 4.5 backspace and if i did it again i'd go 4.75 backspace..
