I am running a 71 340 intake (spread bore) on my 273 with an edelbrack 600 cfm performer. Problem, It requires a spacer (1") which causes to hood to hit the insulation. I hav not been able to get the hood to sit exactly right. Has anyone ever modified the secondary intake ports, tapered them like the spacer, to get secondaries not to hit on the edge. Can it be done. I can eliminate the spacer by getting an edelbrock 2176 intake. Thanks

Dave

Edelbrock has a adapter plate that is very very thin. It requires 2 gaskets and is a total of less than 1/4 inch thick. This part is also recommended by Edelbrock for use with there AFB/AVS carb on the Performer intake manifold.

It is part# #2732 @ .093 thick.
