71 duster headlights

Anyone know a led or halogen replacement that fits these cars ? I’ve gotten two sets now that say they fit bur dont . The plug on the back stick out to far and hits the bucket . I thought about using a hole saw but figured I’d ask everyone first . And yes I know it won’t be brighter . I don’t care I just want a more modern look mine are plenty bright actually but they’re new bulbs but factory looking and yellow tint to them. I don’t want that is like a smooth lens or tri style if anyone knows one that fit their car .

I’m looking at the headlights from Holley but I dont know how they fit.

These may not be what you’re looking for since they look OE. What I like is the color temperature of the lights. Also the bulb connector is on a cord that plugs directly in to the harness socket. So, no mods needed.

I was going to suggest the holley, as I recall the back has a pigtail attached and hooks remotely to the OEM wiring.

the pump out on back hits . I’d have to drill a hole. I really don’t want to . I don’t get how they say these fit if the new bulb is 2-3” deeper than original 7” bulbs .

Where does the bump-out hit? Is it the headlight bucket or is it hitting the core support behind it? If its just the bucket, might be worth getting a second set of headlight buckets to modify and keep your originals untouched and packed away?

the rounded part of the grill - support the headlight mounts in . I’d call it a bucket but it’s permanent

ah... the fender structure behind the headlight bucket, right? Damn it. I was hoping there were some that would fit. And the ones from Holly def do not fit?

There is not a actual bucket just the bulb and maybe bulb housing ? But yes the plugs of back of 3 after market bulbs are deeper then original and hit that thing you most posted . I’d have to cut a circle in that thing to make it fit .

Thr original bulb and plug on back smashes the plug and wires tight fit actually so anything bigger / deeper than original set up won’t fit

Now I'm thinking of having mine altered before it gets painted. Maybe just have my body guy make the pocket deeper or cut an opening
