I was under the impression, pretty much all early 70's v8 Darts same with a 8-3/4, At least all I've seen have until today. Has G in the vin, 318/904 automatic, built in Canada. Just curious how common it was for the little rearend to be in v8, high trim level Darts.

hum i wonder if mine is rare 71 dart all original 8 3/4 rear front disk brakes with a slant 6 all original is that rare ?

Could have been ordered that way. I got a 71 Valiant 4 door from the original owner a few years ago - slant, 904, 8.75 and discs. Asked why - because he wanted heavy duty running gear but with the economy of a slant.

I'd say so. I haven't really dived into the 71 models. On the 66s, the fitment rate of disk brakes on the 273 HP cars was somewhere around 12%. Given the way the cars were marketed, I'd think a disk brake /6 would be a rare bird prior to 73.

The only cars I've dependably seen 8 3/4 under were V-8 4-speed cars. Once the BB & 340 showed up, they got 8 3/4ss. The 273 HP 904 I owned had a 7¼ rear. FWIW I've seen /6s with the Taxi package that had 727 trannys.
