I (like an idiot) purchased an engine wiring harness for a 71 340 duster.. problem is I own a 72 5.9L duster. now I know the plugs for the lights in the grille are different but I figured I could change that and went ahead and installed it anyway.. hit the key and the dang horn blows! haha what all else is different about these harnesses?!?

The differences are that one is a 71 and the other is a 72. :D

You are going to need a factory service manual with the diagrams in them.
They have those over at moparts.com I believe.

Check out this thread I started a few weeks ago... http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=330261

Might be the same issue?

FIRST there are a few years there where the diagrams have a mistake at the bulkhead connector in regards to the yellow "start" wire going to the starter relay, and the green/red horn wire

(EDIT) Just looked and 71 / 72 are both showing that mistake. "L" in the bulkhead is horn on the engine diagram, but starter wire on the inst. panel diagram.

Go to MyMopar and download (free, no sign up) the factory shop manuals for 71 and 72

Lots of good stuff here, and no, LOL, I don't work there

Service manuals. Sometimes you have to make do with Dodge instead of Plymouth or vise versa
