Okay so I had thought I fixed this before but I guess I didn’t my blinkers work sometimes but they stopped a while ago and I don’t know where to start. It’s both blinkers but the hazards work.

Or swap the hazard flasher for the signal flasher. There are two
Also the two get power from different sources, IE the signals get power through the ignition switch must be on, and the hazards are always hot.

Yeah it still doesn’t work with the ignition on.
Have you checked ALL you turn signal bulbs?
If you press the brake pedal do both brake lights come on?
If the flashers are on do both brake lights flash.
If you press the brake pedal do both brake lights come on?
If the flashers are on do both brake lights flash.
go to Rock Auto, look up your car and go to turn signal flasher and you will get pictures of them, and a source to buy one...

Most likely corroded sockets and bad grounds.

Okay so one brake light was working now neither do. When I turn on the hazards both brake lights work.

This is the actual blinker switch in the column it is hooked to a positive on the other side. Please tell me if it works or not so I can rule it out.

Maybe I found something or maybe I’m stupid. This black wire does nothing but when the aligator clip is hooked to another positive and the blinker is used the light will work when touching the red and white.
You are saying that you are jumpering power to the red? Then if that works, the flasher is not receiving power. or the flasher is bad. You have a wiring diagram? Time to look at fuses, and where does that power come from?

the red is the output of the flasher, feeding TO the turn signal switch.
The black Goes to "W" terminal on the bulkhead connector, used as a junction point at that turns into B1-18W which goes to the radio connector--ANOTHER junction point, to X12-18R, which finally leads back to the fuse panel

The flasher is not receiving power. Via the black wire.
You just told me what I just got done telling you. Trace it back, start at the fuse and again....the key must be "on"

Okay so I think the problem is this connector I checked all the other ones and they were fine. Does anyone know what this is called to buy a new one??

Does anyone know if the switch that goes in the transmission could be the problem?
What connector? Flasher? those rarely give trouble but you should be able to probe it and confirm power. I would first try inserting the flasher "rotated" so you only engage one terminal at a time. "Feel" for how tight they are, and work it in/ out a few times to scrub the terminal clean. You should be able to swap the hazard flasher in there to try it, or just jumper a wire across the two connector terminals and the signals should "come on solid" when selected
What problem? You talking about turn siganls? No. Automatic? That is the reverse lamps on the outside two, and the neutral switch on the center one

To get the switch to work through the connector I sent I have to push a wire like down and back in the connector.

My bad guys didn’t realize my post didn’t upload. This is the pug that I think is giving me the issue.
Sorry for the late response...
The brake light bulb has 2 filaments in it.
One is for the rear driving lights
The other is for the brake light.
The turn signal circuit cause one side brake light filament to light up, then the blinker causes that cir to go off then back on, off, on, off, on etc
The flasher circuit does the same thing but for both sides at the same time.
You really need to download your wiring diagram, or buy one from classiccarwiring.com
