im looking to upgrade my front 9 inch drums to disc brakes. i dont mind going to 5x4.5 bolt size. i would like to keep 14 inch wheels as my rear wheels are 14 inch cragar ss 08/61 on my 8 3/4 rear. any info would be great. i have found that wilwood has swap kits for 9 inch drums but do they fit cragar ss 14x7? or is there another company that i use the wheel and size i want? i see that ssbc have swap kit but for 10 inch drums but idk what stuff i would need if i had no choice but to go with them. my budget is 1,100. thanks!!

look at my thread 67 valiant drum to disc. there are factory part possibilities out there, if they will provide the performance you need. and with that kinda budget, you'd be golden and have money left over for other stuff.

well what i was really wanting to knw is if the wilwood swap kit for 9' inch drums fits cragar ss 08/61 14 inch rims. i just bought tires and rims for the rear new and i just dont want to have to sell them and go to 15 inch >.< id like to go with wilwood if i can other wise i thought about being werid and having 15s in front and 14s in rear lol i knw that sounds dumb but if i have too.

From everything I read before I did my swap,Wilwood will not fit 14" rims.I went with scarebird, have about 375 into doing it.

ferrsure now does it affect anything if the front rims and tires are 15 inch and the rear 14 inch? the front tires I plan to use up front are 215/60/15 since I will be having to go 15s up front

I have the front disk rear drum master cylinder from doorman. will I still need to have a proportioning valve? if so any info on how to set somethign like that up would be great.

I'm using the Wilwood combo unit. It's a distribution block and proportioning valve in one. And it's adjustable. It's clean and gives you control and adjustability. The coolest part is that you can get it for up or down of $80.

Question, Why not go with the factory 73-76 big bolt factory disc set up? I did this on several cars and use 14" wheels. Plus you would save a ton of$$$$$$$$.

well i was able to make back most of my money with selling the existing wheels and rims i have and have four 15x7 cragar ss 08/61 4 1/2 backspacing with 215/65/r15 upfront in rear 245/60/r15. today i order the wilwood disk brakes. the valve im not sure of how to install or adjust it to be right you knw? i have 11 inch rear drums.

just an update for those out there who want to know. cragar ss 08/61 15x7 will fit wilwood disk brakes no problem. the kit I bought come with spacers which I will be using just to overall be sure of fitment but even without the spacer they will clear.
