727 clutch pack clearance

I don't think you can use that same trick because the ridge will interfere. Only use that ridged plate on a three plate direct drum. You already evened things out.

What I was thinking was, now there's 4 sets in the front clutch pack but still 3 sets in the rear clutch. Is that ok, or does it make adding the extra set to the front pointless?

Are you saying that you only have three .062 clutches in the rear drum? Or did somebody stick .092s in there?

From the snap ring groove down, you can see the difference. Once you see them side by side.
OK but I mean let's say you are somewhere and you come across an empty drum. Is there a spec somewhere you can measure and figure what they are? Identify them?

Sorry, my mistake, I looked again and it had 4 disc .062 .

Many many thanks for all the advice, especially the stuff that the books don't tell you!
