727 Governor change

Evening all,
I've never done a change of a governor and was wondering if I can do this with the trans still in the car. From what I've read, I remove the tailhousing, rotate the governor housing so I can remove the clips, remove the governor, insert new one, and then put everything back in reverse..i know there's some steps in between like remove the clip so you can slide the tailhousing off etc...just need to know if it can all be done while still attached. Seen plenty of videos and read articles of it being done while the trans is removed.

Governors are usually voted in during election time. Lol

just support the trans at the pan , don't forget to remove the dist. cap, to prevent breaking it

I've changed them in car. Not a bad job

I didn't even drain the oil. I just jacked the back up quite high.
