727 or 904

Hey, quick question... Did any '73 Chargers with 318s come with 727s or just 904?

Don't know about 73's but my Dad ordered a new 72 with a 318 and a 727. The 904 was standard so the 727 was special order. I'd say due to the way the ordering process was back then (you could get almost any combination) it is a good posibility you could have still got one special order in a 73.

Thanks. My friend has a 727 in his Charger and people are always arguing with us because they say all '73 318s came with 904s and I always thought exactly what you said, that it was a special order.

Years ago, in the 80's, I parted out an original 74 charger se with 318 and 727. If you ordered a trailer towing package you most likely got a 727. Sad thing is the car was in great shape, hindsight.....
