727 problem Rev but no forward

I have a 727 that was working fine until yesterday when I pulled it in the waterbox. The tranny just slips in the forward gears but will back up just fine. It has the low band apply valve body and was built by who I thought was a reputable builder. Any Ideas?? Anything simple?? This transmission has a full manual valve body installed and is used for drag racing only. Thanks Jeff

im no tranny pro but did you check the kickdown at the carb and tranny if not that pull the pan and look for fileings and smell the fluid for a burnt smell and there is some good tranny guys on here more info

I should have posted in my orginal posting that it has a full manual valve body installed in it. Thanks for the reply.

You'll probably need to do a full pressure test to find out for sure but sounds like you have a bad clutch pack.

All 3 forward gears slip or just 1st?

Found out that the rear clutch pack most likely came apart. Put my spare tranny in for now.
