727 question need advise

hey guys i just bought a 79 dodge 4 door long bed 2wd with a 440 and a 727 so i was told, but i was under it and noticed the trans doesnt have a slip yoke it has a flange that the drive shaft bolts to. will i be able to use this tranny in my dart if i put a slip yoke on the rear end side of the shaft. i bought the truck to put the engine and trans in my dart. any help would be greatly appriciated.

never seen a slip yoke for the rear end side of the shaft...

the tailshalft and output shaft on the 727 can be changed out to allow the standard rear yoke from a car.

You need a different extension, and a longer output shaft. Involves tearing it apart. bigtime.

i build alot of 4x4 trucks and alot of them have splines on the shaft and then the yoke and joint u bolt on the rear end yoke. i thought maybe i could cut the yoke off the drive shaft that bolts to the trans and weld it to a drive shaft off a 4x4 and use a conversion joint at the rear end. thanks
