727 reverse band

im about to take the tranny out of my 77 4x4 the reverse is out. i got the band and hope to find a breakdown of the tranny if any1 has done this i could use some MOPAR help :D the tranny is new last yr. here it gooooes. be back in later.
 
getting close to take it out gona get a bit to eat then back at it.
 
before you remove trans...drop pan..and look at the rear servo...alot times the servo flips in the bore...

also look to see if the band strut has fallen out...
 
like said above you don't have to remove the trans but if the band needs replacing you'll have to remove the transfer case. the reverse servo has rubber sealing rings and they maybe be bad or hard. like said above remove pan and check it out first.
 
Definetly check the servo first like Tony and Bob said. It's rare for the band itself to break. The servo generally goes first.
 
............U have 2 dissamble the whole trans 2 get out the rear band as it has 2 b installed from the front....u will need a gasket and seal kit............kim...........
