727 Tranny Cross member question

I'm putting in a 360/727 combo in my 71 Duster which originally had a slant six with a 904. I'm pretty sure I cant use the 904 cross member but my question is could I grab any 727 cross member of any vehicle that had a 727?? Small block and big block 727's alike?? Or does it have to be one from a A body that originally had a 727?
