So I think I have everything figured out for the swap except for the kick down. Going with edelbrock performer intake and thunder series Avs carb. I saw the adapter from edelbrock for the throttle connection on the carb and plan on buying the larger throttle cable bracket for a four barrel. My concerns come with the kick down linkage. Edelbrock has a threaded adapter to lengthen the factory one but mine is solid and can’t unscrew for the adapter. Also noted that the 4 barrel throttle cable bracket I plan to purchase has provisions for the Lokar kickdown cable. Is this the easiest route? Thanks. Tried searching but couldn’t narrow it down. Thanks.

I have the same car and engine combo and used the Lokar cable for the tranny. It worked great with the 904 I had in the car but in the process of installing a 727. It should be as good for the new tranny.

How was the install and adjustments? Here’s the bracket I’m considering.

I had to buy the 4 bbl throttle bracket because I couldn't get the proper throw with the old bracket. I got it from Classic Industries. With the proper throttle bracket and the Lokar kickdown cable tranny shifted as well after the swap.

Would prefer to stay stockish like ur first pic there Johnny dart. What was done in that first pic? Thanks

Get real.....Get Mopar.

These parts are all readily available. Your 904 linkage along the firewall to trans works fine. Along with the parts pictured, all you will need to find is the 4bbl throttle rod and 2 springs.

Second pic: Chrysler 4 bbl 340 small block bracket
Third pic: Edelbrock Chrysler throttle bracket

Study the pics. All these parts are available on eBay, or do a parts wanted search here. There is a process here to collect the correct parts, but well worth it in the end. Update your post, and I can help you walk through it.

Pics of what you are working on, with your progress will help.

PS:You do not need the threaded part from Edelbrock.

Sounds good. So nothing needs done to the kickdown rod?

Does your kickdown rod along the firewall have adjuster on the top of it ?
It should be threaded, and able to make an adjustment up or down.

If you look along the firewall on my green car, you should see it.

Here is another 340 I built, with some closeups.
Hope this helps.
