Just wondering for a rear main seal leak (im pretty sure that is where the leak is coming from) do i need to pull the engine??? is there any other way for the 74 Duster besides this??? anyone thanks:protest: ohh and im new as of 10 mins ago!!!

Yeah you can do it from under the car. But here's the thing. If it needs a ream main seal, it needs other gaskets and seals too. Do it right and pull it and do it on the stand. What is it like 25 bolts and you're there?

That is what i was thinking i really did not want to pull it till winter i just finished the restoration thought the engine was fine well it was till i drove it from the shop to home noticed she was ticking pretty loud pulled over checked the oil quart down was all i was put it in got home noticed rocker cover was loose was hoping that was the leak but 2 days later its still doing it either from the pan or rear main still not 100% sure the pan was brazed before by the looks of it...

You can wipe it down and spray a little silver paint on the area and it makes it real obvious where it's leaking from.
The oil will make the fresh paint run.

Yes restored and most of the engine was done everything was checked a dozen times it is the original engine i had cam and heads replaced intake carb replaced and much much much more everything seemed fine till the leak
