Heres a beautiful 1974 Plymouth Valiant 4 door, 318 c.i (84,000 original miles thats 2,400 miles per year over 35 years) 904 A/T, working (COLD!) factory A/C, AM/FM radio, Electronic Ignition (no points) Power Disc Front Brakes.
The car starts right up and runs, drives and looks great! In the last two weeks its had a complete new front end installed: New upper control arms, ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, adjusting sleeves, control arm bushings, wheel hubs and a wheel alignment. Tires are about a year old and were just rotated.
Within the last three months I replaced all the following:
Brake System: Front rotors, pads and hoses, rear pads and all the wheel cylinders.
Engine: I removed and replaced the intake manifold gasket due to a leak and stripped and painted the Intake Manifold. The inside of the engine is great. All of the intake and exhaust ports were cleaned and honed.
Tune Up: New Plugs wires, recently timed and tuned, new return springs for the carburetor
Coolant/Heating System: Flushed the entire system and replaced the heater hoses and radiator hoses.
Suspension: All new shocks all the way around, rears are the heavy duty .
Exhaust: New muffler and pipe 4 months prior to purchasing.
Tires: New tires 4 months prior to purchasing.
The car is great. The body has a decent original paint job still NO BONDO! The floor pans, trunk and spare tire well are all beautiful, no rust even peeking through. The lower rear ¼s are just starting with the typical mopar rust. The passenger side rear door is dented. The exterior chrome is clean and shiny with no pitting. And it has the original white vinyl top. The glass is all good, there is a ½ dollar sized crack in the windshield just even with the rear view mirror that isn't an obstruction.
The interior is gorgeous for a car this old! Its the deluxe package. The dash has small cracks at the corners that are hardly noticeable. The package tray is mint! The original headliner is mint! The seats are original and the upholstery is great. There is one small tear under the drivers seat in a seam. The original carpet is great. The door panels and kick panels and beautiful and the door panels have the wood trim. All of the arm rests are unscathed. The rear drive's door top sill could use work to touch it up. The dash is the wood trim package and is un-cracked and un-scratched. The wood trim instrument cluster is beautiful and all of the gauges work. It has the interior light package with dome light, map light and glove box light that all work. And a rarity for an A-Body the original glove box is perfect! I even have an original owners manual and repop sales brochure.
Mechanically the car is completely sound. To make it a gem, it needs minor body and paint. Ive been using it as my daily driver while working on it cause it just so much fun to drive.
Asking price is $2,900 and will listen to reasonable offers. I've got another project on the table that I'd like to get going and I'm crunched for time, so take a look and make that offer. No payments, checks, dubloons, sheckles. Cashola or, in a pinch, paypal. I hold the car and title until funds are clear.
