do i need to pull the front bumper off to yank the engine?

I noticed on my 79 Dodge Magnum, that when I pulled the bumper, pulling the engine became alot easier to do. The bumpers are similar in that they have a pointed like nose that keeps the hoist farther away from the car and these inchs can hamper efforts.

If you have a hoist that has extend arm, then no, it is not required.
