8.25 rear end gear ratio

I have a 8.25 posi rear end out of a 84 diplomat, and I am getting ready to put it in , all literature said it is a 3.55 gear, some friends said it is 3.23 gear...how do I count the gear to figure this out

Count the number of teeth on the ring gear and then divide that number by the number of teeth on the pinion gear.....

Great and by the way, I see the right carrier bearing adjuster lock has been removed. Don't mess with that adjustment unless you know what you are doing.
