hi fellow mopar brothers I have a 1970 duster with a 360 and a 727 torqueflite trans it was originally a slant 6 car it has a 7.25 in it it doesn't sound too good so I went out and bought a 8.25 with 3.21 gears open diff and it came out of a 73 duster will this 8.25 be a straight forward bolt in? It can complete with leaf springs and shock mounting brackets

Other than shortening the driveshaft, it's a bolt in with or without the springs (they might be HD!). You will need the donor's shock plates. If the donor car has the discs on the front, grab them as well so you'll have LBP all the way around.

Yes and no!
If the front perches are still on the springs of the incoming unit, then yes it will bolt in.
If the park-brake cables are still attached, then yes they will hook up to your equalizer bar.
If the brake flex hose is in the same place between the two units, then that too will hook up ok.
but the one thing that won't work is your original driveshaft.

And finally, get yourself an LSD.
Peg-legging diffs is a sure way to wear out the spiders prematurely, "waller" out the crosspin hole,or even blowing them up.
If your 360 can spin one tire, you need an LSD. This is not a suggestion; you need it.

Yea it is complete! The leaf springs and everything are still bolted to the differential so since it's all bolted together it will bolt right in?

yes it's complete everything is still attached to it so with everything be attached to it will it be a bolt in?

You do realize that the wheel bolt pattern is different? 7.25 is 5 on 4" the 8 1/4 will be 5 on 4 1/2".

Yea someone already took those lol but yea what do u mean by they might be heavy duty?

If it came out of say a 340, the springs might be Heavy Duty - maybe an extra leaf. More than likely a set of standard springs if it came out of a car with a 318.
