I have adj brgs on my 8 3/4 axles. I installed them drivers side first which was bolted in and torked to spec. I installed pass side w\ adjuster and left about.012 to .018 end play. I drive the car and hear brg noise on driver side of rear end. As I drive and make right hand turn noise will go away. Seems to be too much end play on drivers side. I don't under stand how this can be?
What holds drivers side axle to load brg? I'll pull wheel and axle tomarrow but don't know if adj problem or brg problem. It is 3.23 open 741 right now.

What was the reason for the removal of the axles?

Did you change axles (length)?

There is a trust block in the differential that has to be there in order for the adjustment to take place.

Yep- I'll bet your right. I made this rear up out of parts to replace7 1/4 going south. I did not check center section. Thanks mullinax95

make sure both rear wheels off the ground
you should also tap the end of the left axle shaft with a mallet to seat the right wheel bearing cup against the adjuster
////measurement is taken on the left side
take the adjustment to zero, then back off to establish end play .008 - .018
