Just bought an Abody 8 3/4 housing. I have an Ebody complete 8 3/4 that I'm gonna use the chunk out of. Can I use the brakes, backing plates, etc on the Abody? And can I respline the Ebody axles? Or will I have to find some Cbody or aftermarket ones? Thanks.

Brakes will bolt up.
Don't think you can respline the 'e' axles.

The e axles won't be large enough in diameter and the point where they would need to be cut and respline. You need truck or van axles.

Don't believe you can re-spline a C body either. They have a step or undercut
near the spline, so when you have them cut there's not enough material left.

the c body axles can be resplined for an a body housing they are wide enough and dont taper down like the b and e body axles do i dont know about the truck and van axles though if so that is good to know i see a lot of trucks and vans with 8 3/4s around here but not many c bodies anymore thanks for that info Justin

The truck axles won't work either....at least not for stock a-body length
They taper way in on the last 2, 2 1/2 inches before the splines.....
