Well, tonight I pretty much grenaded my center section and 4.56 gears. Haven't torn it down yet but I don't need to! The driveshaft came forward a good inch and and the grinding coming from it is unbelievably loud. Limped it home and all the gear oil was pouring out the front seal and it smelled really hot...

Hoping to find something locally but am open to what may be available here as well. Let me know, I have never overhauled a center section before but that may be an option as well, at this point. It's a 742 center section in there now with 4.56 gears and that's about all I know about it for now. Never had it apart.
Hoping to still get some cruising in this Fall if possible.
I am in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota.
