8 3/4 in a 71 dart

Hey everybody, Just bought a 71 dart 4 door with a 318 for parts. I have not seen the car yet and the guy I bought it from doesent know anything about it what are the chances it has an 8 3/4? was that an option or did ma mopar make the call on that? Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated the car is only 50 bucks so I am not to worried about it. Marc

I dought it will have a 8 3/4. Most only came with the small rears. Maybe if
it would have manual trans. Only seen one 318-manual trans. With the 8 3/4.
But never say never with ma Mopar.

If it came with a trailer package it might have an 8 3/4.

a few of my friends found 8 3/4's in 4 door and 2 door darts and valiants. especially late 71 and 72 since they stopped putting them in a bodies in 72.

anything is possible.. a friend pulled a 3.23 sure grip 8 3/4 rear out of a slant six 4 speed 4 door dart from a local yard years ago.
