8.75 noise

My suregrip wines at steady pulling,but is quieter on hard acceleration,and the noise disapears completely on deceleration.Could tight axle endplay cause this, or does it sound like tight backlash? Lube is synthetic Lucas, with the Mopar Performance additive.

Most common would be the gear set itself, or possibly a pinion bearing. Using a stethescope with the vehicle running on a lift or on jack stands might help pinpoint the noise.
