as i understood it the sure grip is the Clutch Style carrier... the cone style is the Auburn...

All mopar limited slip rear differentials are called SURE GRIP , The cone type is the bottom feeder of the 2 that were avaiable from chrysler.

Many call it the cone type an Auburn , but it is not it was made originally by Borg Warner , the currently available cone types available from Auburn now are a bigger POS than the original Borg Warner unit, they aren't rebuildable (not the the Borg warner was meant to be rebuilt)and don't last as long.

Posi is a GM Term, we at MOPAR call it Limited Slip ( sure grip ), and it is a "CONE TYPE"

they are completely rebuildable, I rebuild these units all the time, I just wanted to set the record straight, and they were produced by DANA, which by the way, Chrysler did own DANA back in the day
