Got the small block out of the way, and got the mounts cut out. Will be running a motor plate on the 440.

Well, that sucks. I was hoping from the title that it would be up for sale. Have fun! I've thought about doing one of those for a long time.

Are you going to hook up the rack-n-pinion ? Or just use it as manual steering?

My buddy (rip) put a 413 in a Dakota, there is actually a good bit of room in the engine compartments.
His dad finished the truck after he passed.

Trans mount didn’t show up yet. I wanted to mock the engine in first but I will do it later . Got 10 bags of sand, planning to blast the frame.

Rain day, So couldn’t work on the frame… degreased under side of the cab with a putty knife, then hit it with a scotch brite pad soaked in lacquer thinner…

Frame is ready for paint. Planning to do a leaf spring relocation first though. Gonna hang them under the rails, and install a 65-67 b-body housing…

Are the frame rails wide enough to where you can box them on the inside and cut the bottom off just enough for spring travel? If so, you could drill 2 or 3 holes to have adjustable height on the front of the springs. Nice work so far!

Thank you! I’m gonna say short answer is no they aren’t wide enough. But if I was dead set on that, we can make anything work ….my plan is to stick a Abody front hanger on the bottom and go like that, probably plate the open side of the frame above it. That’s my tentative plan…

I had originally debated doing a similar idea as yours but was actually looking at moving the spring hanger to the opposite side on the inside. Would need to notch for spring travel that way as well..

That would work too. Just swap the spring hangers side to side. If you're gonna mini tub the rear wheel wells to get bigger tires under it, you only need them to be in as far as the frame rails. If they were too far in towards the middle, would that make it squirrelly on the big end?

Very cool build you have going on here! It's going to be really nice!
