9.25 similar to 8.25, brakes?

Will the brake backing plates swap between the 8.25 and 9.25? I have a 9.25 on my Ram and would like to swap to disc brakes. If the backing plates will swap then I can do the Grand Cherokee disc brake conversion to the 9.25. Anyone know?

Why not use the disc brakes from a newer 9.25 equipped Ram? Would seem to be a better choice than brakes from a smaller vehicle. To answer your question, the 2 axles have different axle tube diameters but the ends are the same....

I didn't think of that. I didn't know the newer Rams still used the 9.25.
